A monitored alarm requires a response upon the receipt of a signal at our GRADE A1, 24-7 control room. Any changes in the conditions being monitored at your property are automatically recorded and the appropriate response initiated. This response could be to an activation of your burglar alarm, personal attack or duress alarm, medical alert, power failure, electrical faults or equipment breakdowns and a range of emergency situations from fire to flooding.

What is Alarm Monitoring?

If it can be sensed it can be detected. If it can be detected it can be reported.

Monitoring is the key reporting link in electronic security. An alarm control interfaces with a communications device to deliver a message for a designated response. These signals can be sent by a pager system, cellular device, radio or digital communicator over the telephone, GPRS or mobile network. The central monitoring station receives and responds to this critical information by decoding the signal and responding according to pre-set instructions from the user.

The required responses, be it to police, fire brigade, doctor, security patrol, maintenance technician or to a list of authorised personnel, are individually tailored to meet the needs of each user. Reports can be provided on all activities or for opening and closing times so that you have a complete record of happens at your property even when you are not there.

As part of the monitoring service you can incorporate an automatic guard callout so you rest after hours knowing your premises are in good hands or the monitoring station can arrange for a patrol company to respond only at your request if you cannot attend.

Monitoring can be provided on systems for fire, security, industrial and environmental alarms, building maintenance systems, CCTV, medical emergencies, personal security alarms, temperature alarms, hazardous substance detectors, alarms in remote mines or warehouses and for many other situations.

Central Station Compliance

ASIAL has for some years operated a grading scheme for central monitoring stations. This is a well-respected system of independent inspections that check compliance with Australian Standard 2201.2-2004, Intruder Alarm Systems - Central Stations.

The ASIAL scheme seeks to give customers the reassurance that the standards applied at a central station are independently audited on a regular basis. In the words of one operator’s advertising 'While we've been monitoring you, we've also been monitored; the result - we're both in great shape'

Monitoring is carried out from our wholly-owned Grade A1 facility in Perth. This is the highest standard achievable under the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL) grading system. This grading is shared with only four other control rooms in the entire state.

ASIAL Certified Control Room

Some of the largest foreign-owned monitoring centres have now consolidated their Australia-wide monitoring services to the eastern states.

Due to time differences, the number of clients involved, operator familiarity with your area and possibly other risks from this consolidation approach, Protection 1 has invested heavily in our own state-of-the-art, ASIAL certified, Grade A1 monitoring centre.

This facility meets all ASIAL Grade A1 requirements and is not a call centre. Protection 1 control room staff are fully experienced, trained and licensed LOCAL professional Security Monitoring Officers. They will know who you are, where you are and will take appropriate action based on your instructions and their local experience.
